In brief

MobileFirst for iOS was the Apple + IBM program that rebuilt enterprise software with consumer-grade design. I helped establish a scalable discovery, design and development process that shipped 108 enterprise iOS apps in the first year and 360 overall, introduced a three-day product alignment design sprint that enabled delivery within 14 weeks, and trained over 500 designers and product managers in UX methodology.

The three-day sprint, in artifacts

Day one produced ranked pain points and a Golden Thread: one user’s day, written as a story the app has to make true. Day two turned it into sketches. Then wireframes, then high fidelity, then a shipped app, inside 14 weeks.

Day one output: pain points from user interviews, ranked high to low before any design

The Golden Thread for a retail sales app: Juliana’s day, step by step, defining exactly what the product must do

Day one to day two: the thread translated into first sketches on paper

The same flow in wireframes: today view, client profiles and product recommendations taking shape

High fidelity: the retail sales experience, from waitlist alerts to client follow-ups

The same method, across industries

Field service: inspections, appointments and damage reports on iPhone and iPad

Industrial operations: a plant floor task manager with 3D equipment context and safety documents in reach

Retail operations: store heatmaps, queue alerts and revenue metrics live on the floor

Inspections at scale: schedules, job details and sign-offs, designed for gloves-on work
