How I work
The method behind the work, in four moves. Full method
Interrogate the problem first
Before any pixels, I pressure test the brief with the model: edge cases, failure states, who the user really is. The cheapest place to be wrong.
Build the flow, not the frame
Working screens in code from the start, one flow at a time. If it can't be clicked end to end without narration, it isn't done.
Refine by hand
The tools get it to eighty percent. Spacing, motion, copy and hierarchy are still mine. That gap is the job.
Keep the system honest
Every new pattern gets written back into the project's design conventions, so the next build session inherits it instead of drifting.
Writing
A weekly series on designing by building. All writing
Designers are becoming design engineers
I haven't opened Figma in months. Why the handoff step is disappearing, and why that is good news for the craft.
July 2026The perfect prompt trap
One giant prompt is a handoff. A series of small ones is a conversation. Conversations build better products.
July 2026Show the model, don't tell it
Some interactions defy description. Record them and let the model watch every frame instead.
